And with that,

I bid you all adieu. Alice was one of the very few reasons that I stayed and put up with the bullying and the utter bullshit. Anyways, it was lovely, for the most part, and I treasure you all. Thank you.

Signing off,

-Alley

P.S. Please take Scat Cat down. If you’d like to create a new fc and bio, well frankly, I don’t give a damn. But the incarnation of him is mine. Thanks!

“Shh, shh. It’ll be okay, Alice. I don’t know how to be a father, either. We’ll manage though. We have each other and our baby. We’ll figure it out.” He wrapped his arms around her, hiding her from the world. “Let’s not tell her. Let’s just run. Back to Colorado. We could do it.” He whispered. “We can tell her later.”

She held him tightly, the tears continuing to fall down. Colorado? Part of her fears was where were they going to raise it. They couldn’t raise a baby in the dorm. But Colorado… They have a house. They were going to start a family there anyways. Why not now? She looked up at him, it seemed to good to be true. But the look on his face was genuine. “Let’s go,” she smiled.

He gave her a smile. “C’mon. We have a road trip ahead of us!” He kissed her and tugged her back towards the school. “We gotta pack and stuff.”

Toulouse nodded violently. “Yes! Yes, we’re keeping it. Oh God, Alice. We’re gonna have a baby!” He couldn’t help but grin. He was excited, even though he was scared. He started to touch her stomach, but it was still covered in ultrasound gel.

“Ahh right, father wants to feel the stomach, doesn’t he?” the doctor quickly wiped the gel from her stomach. Despite Toulouse’s enthusiasm, Alice still felt alien to the situation. Her body was there, in fact. Toulouse was rubbing her stomach as she watched. But it felt so surreal. “I’m a mother?” The doctor chuckled. “It’s normal for the mother to be this shocked,” he told Toulouse, “Well you two are done here. You may leave when you’re done. Oh! Almost forgot.” He printed out the ultrasound and inserted it in the folder that included all the things they needed to know and he left the room.

Toulouse rubbed a circle on Alice’s stomach. It felt the same, but different, too. Toulouse accepted the folder and looked at Alice. “Are you okay? I mean with keeping the baby and everything? I don’t… I’m sorry, Alice.” He whispered.

“No, I want to keep the baby but it’s still so much to process… I don’t know how…what…” she closed her eyes then slowly reopened them. “Let’s go first. We don’t want to hold them up…” she mumbled. She got up with the help of Toulouse and the set of down the hall to the door. Walking down those halls now a mother. Mother…. As soon as they exited, the tears that she tried holding back fell. “Toulouse… I don’t know how to be a mother, what do I do?” she cried, “What will Charlotte say, we promised to be careful.”

Toulouse held Alice’s hand, and looked at her with concern, before tentatively looking at the screen to see what was there. He gripped her hand, almost afraid to look.

The doctor furrowed his eyebrows and froze the screen. “Well… Mr. DuPont… I don’t know how to tell you this but, you two are parents…” he grimaced, pointing to a bean-shaped dot in the middle of the screen. A chill traveled up at spine as she looked at the screen. It had to be a mistake. She felt tears sting her eyes but struggled to keep them in, at least until afterwards. She looked up at Toulouse who was looking at the screen with a blank stare then she looked back at the screen. “But how…” she whispered. “Well you see, you were probably not far along enough last time for the tests to detect anything. I’m sorry, Mrs. DuPont for the mishap…”

Toulouse’s mouth went dry and his heart leapt to his throat. Parents. The word bounced around his head. He and Alice were parents. That little kidney bean was their baby. In Alice. Suddenly, he felt like he was going to be sick, but willed himself not to. “Alice…” He whispered, touching her cheek. “It’ll be okay.” The doctor was going on about their options, since she was underage, but he wasn’t listening. All he could do was stare at the little dot on the screen. “I love you.” He kissed her softly. He didn’t know what else there was to say. “We’ll be all right. We can handle this, together.” He squeezed her hand. “I won’t leave you.”

She kept staring at the screen. Everything else around her fell on deaf ears. She looked at Toulouse after he kissed her but she still couldn’t hear him, just watched his mouth move. The same went for the doctor but he seemed intent on getting her attention. “Mrs. DuPont? Mrs. DuPont! About the baby, what course of action do you want to take?” he asked sternly. She tilted her head and stared at him, “What?” What course of action did she have to take besides have it and try to raise it with the best of their knowledge. Oh… there was that but she shook her head adamently, “We’re keeping it.” She looked up at Toulouse fearfully, “We’re keeping it?”

Toulouse nodded violently. “Yes! Yes, we’re keeping it. Oh God, Alice. We’re gonna have a baby!” He couldn’t help but grin. He was excited, even though he was scared. He started to touch her stomach, but it was still covered in ultrasound gel.

It’s not particularly warm, but it has a good view. Key’s under the mat. See ya around.

“Always.” He gave her a reassuring smile and helped her up, keeping a hold on her hand as the nurse led them to the familiar room. “I’m sure you’ll be okay.” He murmured, squeezing her hand, and lifting her up onto the exam table to wait for the doctor.

“If I was fine, I wouldn’t be here,” she groaned. She leaned her head on the bed and waited impatiently for the doctor to show up, countinf down the seconds of the clock. Two more minutes and I’ll just run… Once again her plans were thwarted again and the doctor came through the door. Once he saw Alice, he raised his eyebrow. “What seems to be the problem this time?” he inquired. Alice explained her nausea and her late period. “I’m sure it’s nothing,” she quickly added.

The doctor frowned slightly upon seeing her. “Maybe, maybe not. We’ll run some tests just to be sure.” He gave Alice’s hand a reassuring pat. “I’m sure you know what to do. The restroom’s just down the hall.” He handed her a cup and stepped out, and Toulouse blushed for Alice’s sake.

She sighed and got up to take the cup from him. “I’ll be back in a bit…” she muttered, closing the door behind her. Minutes later she returned to lie on the bed. Then came her least favorite part. “I’m going to need you to lift up your shirt,” he coaxed, prepping the ultrasound. “Based on your answers, I think we need to make sure,” he explained. She winced as the cold gel was smeared over her stomach. He flickered the screen on and watched attentively.
